The importance of math and how to use the Math Facts DVD
Math fluency, or automatic recall of basic math facts is a key foundation for higher-level math skills. When your child has automatic recall of the basic math facts, he can quickly retrieve answers, reserving the mental resources needed for learning more advanced mathematics.
Addition facts are the single digit addends with sums up to 18. Subtraction facts are the inverses of the addition facts. Before attempting to develop automatic recall, children should have certain skills and a fundamental understanding of addition and subtraction.
